Statement of Faith
God
We believe in one God, Creator and Lord of the Universe, the co-eternal Trinity; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The Bible
We believe the Bible is God's authoritative, only, and inspired Word. It is without error in all its teachings, including creation, history, its own origins, and salvation. Christians must submit to Scripture as God’s divine authority, both individually and corporately, in all matters of belief and conduct, which is demonstrated by godly living.
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is God, born of a virgin. Jesus is fully God and fully man at the same time. He gave His life on the cross where He who knew no sin, was made sin for all who believe; He was buried and rose again from the dead. We believe Jesus is coming again for His church, to establish His Kingdom on earth, to judge the wicked and to dwell with the saints of God forever. Jesus Christ is the only way to be saved from God’s eternal wrath.
Human Condition
We believe God created Adam and Eve in His image, holy and innocent, but they sinned when tempted by Satan. In union with Adam, human beings are sinners by nature and choice, alienated from God, and under His wrath. Only through God’s saving work in Jesus Christ can we be forgiven, redeemed, rescued, reconciled, and renewed.
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit, in all He does, glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ. He convicts the world of sin. He regenerates sinners, and in Him they are baptized into union with Christ and adopted as heirs in the family of God. He also indwells, illuminates, guides, equips and empowers believers to Christ-like living and service.
Salvation
We believe we are saved by grace through faith, apart from works, that the sinner who repents and personally accepts the finished work of Christ on the Cross becomes a child of God, is made a new creature, and is indwelt by the Holy Spirit.
Christian Living
We believe God’s justifying grace must not be separated from His sanctifying power and purpose. God commands us to love Him above all, then others, and live out our faith with care for one another, compassion toward the poor and justice for the oppressed. With God’s Word, the Spirit’s power, and prayer in Christ’s name we are to make disciples of all people, which includes bearing witness to the Gospel in word and deed.
Christ’s Return
We believe Jesus will personally and visibly return in glory to raise the dead, bring ultimate salvation, with final judgment. God will fully manifest His kingdom when He establishes a new heaven and new earth, in which He will be glorified forever and exclude all evil, suffering, and death.
Family
We believe marriage is ordained by God between a man and a woman.
