Our Beginning

In January of 2019, a vision was laid out to provide a place for parolees to participate in a Faith-based, Christ-centered program to help them transition from prison to a meaningful, productive life in the free world. That vision called for four things:

  1. A place to live
  2. A place to work
  3. A decided Christian philosophy
  4. Classes to prepare these individuals for their end of sentence (EOS)

Ron Ethridge was enlisted as Director to get the program up and running. Ron has been a pastor for 31 years in Mississippi and Alabama. He has obtained degrees from Samford University (B.S.), New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div.), and Beeson Divinity School (D.Min.). Shortly after being enlisted, Ron began the process of carrying out that vision with the founding of our program, Journey.

Journey is committed to glorifying God by making disciples (Matthew 28:19) of men leaving prison who desire to contribute positively to their families, friends, communities, and the Kingdom of God.

We will do this by working with these men to help them:

  • Walk closer with God through Jesus
  • Live a life of purpose, meaning, and joy
  • Become better husbands, fathers, and friends
  • Become positive contributors to the community
